Introducing VisNet Network Planning Software

ComputerWeeklyAnnouncing VisNet™, a new network design tool that enables planning and deployment teams to quickly visualize, design, and optimize the performance of mobile ad-hoc networks. VisNet is the first planning tool for mobile wireless networks that combines the processing muscle of QualNet®, the world’s most advanced high fidelity network simulation technology, with high-definition 3D visualization technology from ESRI’s ArcView GIS platform.

VisNet Defense was publicly previewed at the ESRI Education User Conference, July 11-14, 2009, and free 30-day evaluations are now available through the SNT website.

VisNet Defense is shipping now, and the other versions of VisNet for Commercial/Enterprise and Cellular are anticipated to be released in late '09 / early '10.

SNT CEO Rajive Bagrodia discusses Wireless Cyber Warfare in Defense Systems Magazine

Defense SystemsIn cyber warfare, the network is the battlefield. While all networks are vulnerable to attack, mobile wireless networks are the most unprotected because their strengths and benefits — agility, adaptability, node autonomy and self-organization — also make them harder to defend against radio frequency (RF) distortion and malicious packet-level disruption and intrusion.

Washington DCSNT to Present at Global Security Challenge Regional Finals September 29, 2009

SNT has been selected as a regional finalist for the Global Security Challenge in the category of Best Security Small Medium Enterprise (SME). SNT's senior management will introduce the company's cybersecurity strategy and compete to move on to the finals in London in November.

Location: DLA Piper LLP, East Palo Alto, California

About SNT's Cybersecurity Solution

Computers, indispensable in peace, are becoming ever more important in political conflicts and open warfare.   As hackers, rogue political states and terrorists are increasingly using computer power as a weapon, there's widespread consensus that global efforts to secure cyberinfrastructure are flailing. To provide a solution to this widespread vulnerability, Scalable Network Technologies (SNT) develops and supports high-fidelity emulation and simulation software that revolutionizes the design and development of wireless networks and devices.

SNT’s EXata is the only network evaluation tool that can create “software virtual networks” (SVNs) – exact digital replicas of physical networks in virtual space that are indistinguishable to applications, devices, or users. Unlike traditional modeling and simulation products, SVNs created in EXata can interoperate with all components of physical networks – devices, applications, users, and network management tools. The result is the ability to test, evaluate and train people to defend against cyber attacks on very large-scale systems, but without the expensive hardware costs. Moreover, the wireless domain is the Achilles heel of network security, and SNT’s particular focus is on wireless networks.

If you missed the June webinar entitled Using WireShark for Packet Sniffing & Debugging of Emulated Networks in EXata, you can still watch the archive.

Learn how you can examine the performance of an emulated network in EXata using applications such as WireShark or Microsoft Network Monitor. We'll show you how WireShark (formerly Ethereal) decodes and analyzes packets flowing across a real network..
